1. Setting of the Smart card reader service in Windows XP

If the card reader is not working, you should check weather the Smart Card service is set to Automatic on Start-up. In the Control panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services) select the Smart Card Service by right-click of the mouse on the Smart Card and then select Start from the list. Again, use the right-click of the mouse to select Properties. Change Start-up type from Manual to Automatic, as shown on the picture. In order to confirm the action click the Apply button. Then restart the PC.

2. I want to change the PC, what should I do?

If you want to change the PC or format your disc, in order to save the existing data you must copy PersonalE.Bank.mdb and Eimenik.mdb files, located in C:Program filesHalcomPersonal E-bank on a medium (other PC or disc). After installation of Personal E-Bank programme, copy these two files in C:Program filesHalcomPersonal E-bank. Once you have copied these files, the Personal E-Bank programme must be closed

3. why can't I connect to the Bank, although I can connect to the Internet

If you can use the Internet, and cannot connect to the Bank, the most frequent problem is the firewall which has not been set so as to let off this connection, and in any case one should check whether the port for connection to the Bank's server are opened. This check is conducted in the following way:
1. Access to MS-DOS console.
2. If you have set the Personal E-Bank programme to connect to the Bank's server via your Internet provider, you must type the following command in the window
               telnet  ebank.kombank.com  3600 then press Enter
2. If you have set the Personal E-Bank program to connect to the Bank's server using the line of Komercijalna Banka, you must type the following command in the window
               telnet  10.0.2.100 3600 then press Enter
If the window as shown on the picture appears, it means that the ports are opened and the Personal E-Bank programme has and opened access to the Bank's server




If the ports are not opened, a message shall appear in the window with information that the ports are not opened. In that case check the setting of your firewall, i.e. some other protection program.
If the ports are opened, and you still cannot connect, check how the connection has been set in the Connection Parameters (Start, Programs or All programs, E-Bank, Connection Parameters).

4. Message: "Data about user is impossible to restore. Can not continue."

This message appears from the following reasons:

  • The user account has not been activated yet (call your Bank);
  • User is not authorised for the connection for the chosen Bank (call your Bank);
  • You are trying to connect to the wrong Bank;
  • The ports for connection to the Bank's server are closed (look under 3);

5. Letters č, ć, š, ž, đ cannot be recognised in the program

1. With all Windows Operational System other than Windows XP Slovenian, regional settings must be set during Windows installation.
2. Setting for Windows XP
Click Start>Settings>Control Panel, then click twice the icon Regional and Language Options. Then click Advanced. Choose Serbian (Latin) on the respective list, as indicated on the picture.



6. When I start the application the following message appears:" Data base - wrong ODBC data source path"

This message appears when the programme is not well linked to the ODBC data source. This is checked in (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools) in the Data Sources ODBC sub-window. Click System DSN , select PersonalEbank.mdb and click the button Configure. The window ODBC Microsoft Access Setup opens. In the sub-window Database click the Select button, this opens Select Database window. In the sub-window Directories this file must be located in the folder which contains the PersonalEbank.exe file.
If the same error continues to appear, download the following file and act according the instruction implied. Link

7. Message: "Forbidden"

Click to My Computer icon which is located on desktop. Select the Hard disk in which the installation of Personal E-Bank programme has been done (most frequently C: ). Then click twice on the Program files folder. Find the Halcom folder and click twice. Folder Personal E-bank will open. Click twice on this folder in order to open its content.
Find DeleteCR.exe file (or DeleteCR) and click on it twice, then confirm by clicking Yes button.

8. Message: "Error creating C_PC_GLOBAL_REFERENCE"

Error in creating ODBC connection. Appears on those computers where the base driver has not been installed properly, or where the programme base has not properly linked to the driver.

9. When I want to print the statement the following message appears: "Error getting data from the curnet row set"

Necessary system databases of the operational system are either damaged or deleted. In this case the only solution is Windows reinstallation.

11. After the installation of Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2) reader CardMan 1010 PC/SC is not functioning

If you use the smart card reader CardMan 1010 PC/SC and you have installed the Windows XP SP2 (service pack 2) do the following:
1. Download the new driver for card reader CardMan 1010 PC/SC from the following location:

2. Delete the driver which has already been installed on your PC (Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, find PC/SC interface driver handler for CardMan 1010, then click the Change/Remove button in order to delete the driver installed). Restart the computer.

3. Unpack the archive you have downloaded to any location on your Hard Disc, and then start Start-up in order to start the wizard for the installation. Take care to choose the appropriate COM port. After completed installation, restart the computer.

12. What if the card reader is not functioning?

If you checked the drivers for reader and it appears they have been properly installed, you should check whether the reader is functioning. You will verify that by Smart Trust Personal programme (Start/Programs/Smart Trust Personal/Administration Utility). The window Smart Trust Personal-Administration Utility will appear.

Indicators of successful installation of the smart card reader are the information on the Smart card reader type, inserted Smart card and certificates on it (picture below). Close this window by clicking Close button.


 
If you have the old version of Personal E-bank programme installed, it is possible that instead of the Smart Trust Personal programme, you will have ID2 Personal programme installed. The procedure of checking the reader by using this programme is the following:

Start ID2 Personal programme (Start/Programs/ID2 Personal/Administration Utility). Indicators of successful installation of the smart card reader are the information on Smart card reader type, inserted Smart cards and containing certificates (picture below). Close this window by clicking Close button.



If you are using the reader that was delivered to you by another bank, and cannot read our card, download the following database from this link.
If nothing from the above offered solutions would not help, you probable installed the SmartCard Base Components by mistake, and you have Windows 2000 or XP installed. The solution for Windows 2000 is the following:

-       Log in as Administrator and in MS DOS console (Start->Run… type CMD and press Enter button) then type in the following command:

Regsvr32 %windir%system32scardssp.dll

Scardsvr reinstall

For Windows XP you must download the following file. Link
Open Windows Explorer, select the folder where you chose to save this file, and then click twice on it in order to open archive. Inside the archive you will find the file Scard_xp.reg, which you should double-click so that the data would be entered into Windows registry. Re-start the computer, log in as Administrator, and then type in the following command in the MS DOS console (Start->Run… type CMD and press Enter button):

-      
Net start scardsvr

so as to start the Smartcard service manually.

13. During logging in the programme I entered the wrong pin three times and blocked the card, what should I do to de-block it?

In order to de-block the card you need to have PUK code which you will find in the envelope which was delivered to you, containing both PIN code and the Card Serial Number.
